Q: |
How Fast is the Internet Service?
- We offer a true bi-directional service! Our Service is
greater than 100 times faster than dial-up, 28 times faster
than DSL, and most Cable packages! Our true
throughput is much faster than most other carriers stated
speeds. We do not limit the amount of online time to a
customer! We do monitor the data that goes
through a connection to monitor for abuse as per our abuse
policy. Unlike Cable companies and DSL providers, we
do not throttle at your location to ensure the highest
possible throughput to the Internet!!
Q: |
Do you offer any guarantee?
- YES! We offer a 30 day money back guarantee!
We will refund the cost of installation and uninstall you,
if you are not happy with the service within the first 30
days!**
Q: |
Is the service affected by weather?
- Since the signal travels between the antenna one your location and our tower rather than a satellite, the "rain fade" you may
experience with satellite services is not an issue. Snow and fog do not cause problems for the same reason -- the signal doesn't travel far enough to
be affected by minor obstructions.

Q: |
Can I connect multiple computers to my residential SkySurfer service?
- Multiple computers can be connected to the SkySurfer
service as long as you use a broadband (Cable/DSL) router
for Internet sharing. This router can be connected to our
"modem" and used to connect your computers together. Broadband
routers can be purchased inexpensively at any computer store
or from an installation tech.* Please note not all
routers are created equal and most times you get what you
pay for. Please ensure that the make and model of
router is one of our supported products, or you have the
ability to take it back if you discover it is not on our
compatible with our system.
Q: |
What operating systems and computers is the service compatible with?
- SkySurfer is supported on Microsoft Windows only. However, the service will work properly with many other systems, including Macintosh and most Unix clones. You can access SkySurfer with any operating system capable of obtaining configuration information via DHCP; however, users of operating systems other than Windows
may not receive support from our technical support representatives.
Q: |
What kind of equipment will be installed at my
location?
- We will mount an antenna on top of your roof, or other
suitable location, the height of which varies from
location to location depending on how high it needs to achieve
signal to and from the tower. Inside your location, we will install a power supply for the antenna,
possibly, a wireless modem near your computer, and any cabling necessary.
There may be a surcharge for additional wiring, or more
difficult installations, but you will be notified prior to
any work being completed.*
Q: |
What is involved in the installation of the SkySurfer
High-Speed Service?
- The installation is performed at your location in many
steps, but primary three parts.
- The site survey - ensure that
you are able to get signal (this can be completed in a
variety of ways)
- Can you see the tower?
- Do you have a neighbour that has it,
- Do you fall into on of our targeted
markets?
- If not, we will book a site survey,
and come have look! We may be thinking of
expanding into your area and you may be just the one
that makes it happen!*
- There is equipment that installed on the outside of your
location that receives the signal and is required to remain
powered up and online all the time, to ensure good quality
service.
- A cable is ran into your location, for your
computer / system(s) to be able to access the Internet
Service. Any additional supported equipment needed is
installed, or configured as required,*
Q: |
Are there any health concerns associated with using
the service?
- Our equipment complies with all Canadian Rules and
Regulations. It is true that we use High Frequency
radio-wave (Microwave) technologies, however no long tern
effects have every been associated with using our
technologies. That being said, we do not recommend
anything in front of the antenna closer than 0.3 meters.
